MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL MEETING <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />LITTLE CANADA, MINNESOTA <br />JULY 30, 1991 <br />Pursuant to due call a special meeting of the Council <br />of the City of Little Canada, Minnesota was held on the <br />30th day of July, 1991 in the Conference Room o£ the <br />City Center located at 515 Little Canada Road in said <br />City. <br />Mayor Raymond Hanson chaired the meeting and called it <br />to order at 5:03 P.M. and the following members of the <br />Council were present at roll call: <br />MEMBERS PRESENT: Mayor Mr. Raymond Hanson <br />Council Member Mr. Bill Blesener <br />Council Member Mrs. Beverly Scalze <br />MEMBERS ABSENT: Council Member Mr. Jim LaValle <br />Council Member Mr. Rick Collova <br />ALSO PRESENT: City Admin. Mr. Joel Hanson <br />Canadian Days Mrs. Cindi Pack <br />LCRA President Mr. Steve Morelan <br />The purpose of this meeting was to discuss liquor <br />liability insurance requirements pursuant to City <br />Ordinances and relative to information recently <br />obtained by the two recent license applicants, as well <br />as the licensing of these applicants for Canadian Days <br />events. <br />Mr. Steve Morelan explained that initially the <br />quotations received for liquor liability insurance <br />relative to their temporary liquor license for Canadian <br />Days was quoted at 12% of gross sales irrespective of <br />any per day minimum. This would be for <br />$100,000/$300,000 coverage. Upon receiving the <br />certificate of insurance from the insurance carrier, he <br />was informed that the actual rate for insurance would <br />be $300 per day minimum plus 12% of gross sales for any <br />sales over $2,500 on a daily basis. Mr. Morelan also <br />explained if the City would be requiring only the <br />minimum limits pursuant to State Statutes <br />($50,000/$100,000), then the cost would drop to $100 <br />per day plus 120 over the $2,500 per day sales figure. <br />He stated for the three day event to be held during <br />Canadian Days, this additional $600 in insurance costs <br />is a <br />Page 1 <br />
