MINUTES OF THE 5PECIAL MEETING
CITY COUNCIL
LITTLE CANADA, MINNESOTA
JULY 31, 1991
Pursuant to due call a special meeting of the Council
of the City of Little Canada, Minnesota was held on the
31st day of July, 1991 in the Conference Room of the
City Center located at 515 Little Canada Road in said
City.
Mayor Raymond Hanson chaired the meeting and called it
to order at 5:02 P.M. and the following members of the
Council were present at roll call:
MEMBERS PRESENT: Mayor Mr. Raymond Hanson
Council Member Mr. Bill Blesener
Council Member Mr. Jim LaValle
Council Member Mrs. Beverly 5calze
MEMBERS ABSENT:
Council Member
Mr. Rick Collova
ALSO PRE5ENT:
City Admin.
LCRA President
Mr. Joel Hanson
Mr. Steve Morelan
The purpose of this meeting was to consider an
amendment to the Little Canada Ordinance Code governing
liquor liability requirements for temporary licensees
as well as further oonsideration of temporary licenses
issued for the Canadian Days Celebration.
An ordinance amendment reducing liquor liability
insurance coverage requirements for temporary liquor
licenses was presented for review.
Council Member Rick Collova arrived at 5:04 P.M.
Mr. Steve Morelan noted that the ordinance amendment as
proposed did not include temporary licenses for
non-intoxicating malt liquor. The Council concurred
that it was the intent to include that revision as
well. The ordinance amendment would reduce liquor
liability requirements for temporary licensees from
$100,000/$300,000 to $50,000/$100,000. It was also
noted that these are the minimum requirements set forth
by State Statutes, that our permanent liquor licenses
are only required to have these limits, and the cost of
liquor liability insurance coverage for temporary
licensees at the higher limits was substantially more
expensive than anticipated.
Page 1
