MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />JULY 31, 1991 <br />Mr. Blesener introduced the following resolution and <br />moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 91-7-259 - APPROVING TEMPORARY LIQuOR <br />LICENSE FOR LITTLE CANADA RECREATION ASSOCIATION FOR <br />THE SITE BY THE BALLFIELDS IN SPOONER PARK FOR AUGUST <br />9, 10, 11, 1991, SUBJECT TO SUBMISSION OF EVIDENCE OF <br />INSURANCE REQUIREMENTS AS REQUIRED BY ORDINANCE CODE <br />AND WIAVING THE LICENSE FEE <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by LaValle. <br />Ayes (4) Blesener, LaValle, Scalze, Collova. <br />Nays (0). <br />Resolution declared adopted. <br />Mrs. Scalze introduced the following resolution and <br />moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION N0. 91-7-260 - APPROVING TEMPORARY LIQUOR <br />LICENSE FOR LITTLE CANADA CANADIAN DAYS COMMITTEE FOR <br />THE EAST SPOONER PARK SITE FOR AUGUST 9, 10, 11, 1991 <br />SUBJECT TO SUBMISSION OF EVIDENCE OF INSURANCE <br />REQUIREMENTS AS REQUIRED BY ORDINANCE CODE AND WAIVING <br />THE LICENSE FEE <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by LaValle. <br />Ayes (4) Scalze, LaValle, Blesener, Collova. <br />Nays (0). <br />Resolution declared adopted. <br />SoLICITATION Mayor Hanson raised the possibility of the City asking <br />OF GAMBLING the various charities to donate funds on behalf of the <br />FUNDS Canadian Days Celebration. This would be used as a <br />means to defray costs and generate needed dollars to <br />ensure a successful celebration. It was the consensus <br />of the Council that the City should not make a request <br />for funds to the charitable organizations. Rather, <br />they felt that the Canadian Days Committee should <br />request funds on its own behalf. They would consider <br />accepting donations on behalf of the Canadian Days <br />Committee to defray costs so long as the City's <br />contribution of those funds to Canadian Days complied <br />with statutory requirements. Mayor Hanson indicated he <br />would inform the Canadian Days Committee of the <br />Council's position. <br />ADJOURN Mr. LaValle introduced the following resolution and <br />moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 91-7-261 - ADJOURNING <br />Page 3 <br />
