MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />AUGUST 14, 1991 <br />Mr. LaValle introduced the following resolution and <br />moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION N0. 91-8-277 - AWARDING THE LOW BID OF F.M. <br />FRATTALONE EXCAVATING FOR THUNDER BAY DRAINAGE DITCH <br />IMPROVEMENT, BASE BID AMOUNT $88,655, SUBJECT TO A <br />FINAL DECISION REGARDING IMPROVEMENT ALTERNATIVE FOR <br />DITCH D <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Scalze. <br />Ayes (5) LaValle, Scalze, Collova, Hanson, Blesener. <br />Nays (o). <br />Resolution declared adopted. <br />LEEWARD WAY The City Engineer reported that the City has been <br />IMPROVEMENT attempting to get the Leeward Way improvement combined <br />with the DeSoto Street improvement as a change-order. <br />The contractor is interested in doing the work, <br />however, needs to confirm with his subcontractors <br />whether or not another mobilization will be necessary. <br />Once the contractor has that information, he should be <br />able to give the City a final price for the <br />improvement. The Engineer estimated that the <br />information would be available by the next Council <br />meeting. <br />The City Administrator reported that a development <br />agreement will be necessary for the Leeward Way <br />improvement since it has changed from a public <br />improvement to a private improvement. <br />Mrs. Scalze introduced the following resolution and <br />moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION N0. 91-8-278 - AUTHORIZING TAE CITY <br />ADMINISTRATOR TO PROCEED WITH NEGOTIATION OF A <br />DEVELOPMENT AGREEMENT FOR THE LEEWARD WAY IMPROVEMENT <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Blesener. <br />Ayes (5) Scalze, Blesener, Collova, Hanson, LaValle. <br />Nays (0). <br />Resolution declared adopted. <br />Collova suggested that the City might want to suggest <br />to the property owner that he obtain bids for the <br />improvement, in the event that something cannot be <br />worked out with the DeSoto Street contractor. <br />The City Engineer agreed that the property owner had <br />the option of obtaining bids or the improvement could <br />be combined with another City project. <br />Page 17 <br />
