MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />AUGUST 14, 1991 <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by LaValle. <br />Ayes (5) Collova, LaValle, Hanson, Scalze, Blesener. <br />Nays (O). <br />Resolution declared adopted. <br />EMERGENCY The City Administrator requested that appointment of an <br />SERVICES Emergency Services Director be tabled for two weeks <br />DIRECTOR pending completion of his review of applications. <br />Collova reported that Mickey Haggeman has expressed an <br />interest in the position. <br />The Administrator suggested that Ms. Aaggemann submit <br />an application. <br />Mr. Blesener introduced the following resolution and <br />moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION N0. 91-8-282 - TABLING ACTION ON APPOINTMENT <br />OF AN EMERGENCY SERVICES DIRECTOR UNTIL THE AUGUST 28TH <br />COUNCIL MEETING <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Scalze. <br />Ayes (5) Blesener, Scalze, Collova, Hanson, LaValle. <br />Nays (o). <br />Resolution declared adopted. <br />RECYCLING The City Administrator reported that the City received <br />INTERN 33 applications for its recycling intern position. The <br />position is temporary, 40-hour per week, and pays $8 <br />per hour with no benefits. It is anticipated that the <br />position will run between 6 and 8 months. The City has <br />received a grant of $28,889 to fund this position. The <br />grant runs through the end of the year, however, the <br />Administrator will attempt to get the grant extended. <br />The Administrator reported that of the 33 applicants, <br />his recommendation is to offer the position to Roberta <br />Anderson. Anderson has served as an intern with the <br />League of Minnesota Cities as well as the City of <br />Fridley. <br />Mr. LaValle introduced the following resolution and <br />moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION N0. 91-8-283 - AUTHORIZING THE CITY <br />ADMINISTRATOR TO HIRE ROBERTA ANDERSON AS RECYCLING <br />INTERN <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Scalze. <br />Ayes (5) LaValle, Scalze, Collova, Blesener, Hanson. <br />Nays (0).
