MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />AUGUST 14, 1991 <br />CHARITABLE The City Administrator suggested that before the City <br />GAMBLING begins drafting a charitable gambling ordinance, it <br />visit the City of Minneapolis and view their operation <br />for overseeing charitable gambling within their City. <br />After that tour, it may be beneficial for the Council <br />to hold a workshop to begin drafting an ordinance. <br />RELIEF Mr. Blesener introduced the following resolution and <br />ASSOCIATION moved its adoption: <br />AUDIT <br />RESOLUTION NO. 91-8-284 - ACCEPTING THE FIRE RELIEF <br />ASSOCIATION AUDIT AND SCHEDULES I, II, AND III <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by LaValle. <br />Ayes (5) Blesener, LaValle, Scalze, Collova, Hanson. <br />Nays (0). <br />Resolution declared adopted. <br />PIONEER Hanson reported that Centerville Road property owners <br />PARK have expressed concern with the amount of parking in <br />Pioneer Park. Neighbors are concerned that when <br />tournaments are held that overflow parking will occur <br />along Centerville Road. <br />It was the consensus of the Council that since parking <br />lots have not yet been paved and striped, that they are <br />not being used to their full capacity. <br />The Recreation Director agreed, and indicated that once <br />the paving and striping occurs, the parking situation <br />can be monitored. If need for additional parking is <br />apparent after that time, the Park Commission will make <br />a recommendation to the City Council. <br />Collova suggested that the next issue of the City's <br />newsletter include an article informing parents that <br />bebe guns and pellet guns are prohibited in the City. <br />Collova expressed concern with the damage done to the <br />Pioneer Park recreation building. <br />The Recreation Director pointed out that since usage of <br />the park has increased, vandalism has dropped off. <br />WARMING The City Administrator reviewed his recommendation for <br />HOUSE modification to the new warming house proposed at the <br />Demont site in an attempt to reduce the estimated cost <br />of construction. <br />Mr. LaValle introduced the following resolution and <br />moved its adoption: <br />Page 20 <br />
