MINUTES
CITY COUNCIL
NOVEMBER 13, 1991
Blesener noted that the increase would take the fund
down to the 92% funded level.
Scalze suggested that any increase be considered as
part of the budget review process, and be handled as an
entire package along with the Fire Department budget.
Blesener pointed out that the increase is based on
existing funds, and what happens with the budget does
not effect the Pension Fund.
DeBace indicated that Bob Pierce of the State Auditing
Office has found the Pension Fund to be in excellent
shape.
Blesener pointed out that there are many pension funds
that are at a 100%-funded level, and only a few are at
below 90% funded.
Mr. Blesener introduced the following resolution and
moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION NO. 91-11-381 - APPROVING A BENEFIT INCREASE
FROM $1,800 TO $2,000 PER YEAR OF SERVICE AS REQUESTED
BY THE FIRE RELIEF ASSOCIATION BASED ON THE
RECOMMENDATION OF THE PENSION BOARD AND THE OPINION OF
THE CITY AUDITOR THAT THIS DOES NOT BRING THE FUNDING
OF THE PENSION FUND DOWN TO AN UNREASONABLE LEVEL
The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Collova.
Ayes (5) Blesener, Collova, Aanson, LaValle, Scalze.
Nays (0).
Resolution declared adopted.
VARIANCE Mr. Vance Dahle has requested a one-year front yard
EXTENSION setback variance extension for Lot 3, Block 3, Thunder
DAALE Bay Estates 2nd Addition, which he recently purchased
from Mr. Don Valento. Mr. Dahle intends to construct a
home on this lot in the Spring.
Mr. Blesener introduced the following resolution and
moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION N0. 91-11-382 - APPROVING A ONE-YEAR
VARIANCE APPROVAL EXTENSION FOR LOT 3, BLOCK 3 THUNDER
BAY ESTATES 2ND ADDITION AS REQUESTED BY VANCE DAHLE
The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by LaValle.
Ayes (5) Blesener, LaValle, Hanson, Scalze, Collova.
Nays (0).
Resolution declared adopted.
Page 4
