MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />JANUARY 8, 1992 <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Blesener. <br />Ayes (4) Scalze, Blesener, Hanson, LaValle. <br />Nays (0). <br />Resolution declared adopted. <br />DESOTO The City Administrator reported that the net assessment <br />STREET cost to the City for DeSoto Street is $66,230.98. <br />EASEMENT The City's gross assessment is $91,757.49 less land <br />value for easement purchase of $25,526.51. It is <br />recommended that the City's cost of the net assessment <br />come from future surpluses in TIF District 1-1. <br />Mrs. Scalze introduced the following resolution and <br />moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION N0. 92-1-29 - AUTHORIZING THE PAYMENT OF THE <br />CITY'S DESOTO STREET EASEMENT COSTS FROM FUTURE <br />SURPLUSES IN TIF DISTRICT 1-1 <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by LaValle. <br />Ayes (4) Scalze, LaValle, Aanson, Blesener. <br />Nays (0). <br />Resolution declared adopted. <br />RECREATION Scalze reported that the children's skating party is <br />set for Saturday, February Sth, from 1 to 3 P.M. ice or <br />not. Also, there will be registration at City Hall on <br />February 27th and March 5th from 6 P.M. until 8 P.M. <br />for T-Ball, softball, and baseball. <br />VOUCHERS Mr. LaValle introduced the following resolution and <br />moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 92-1-30 - APPROVING THE VOUCHERS <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Blesener. <br />Ayes (4) LaValle, Blesener, Scalze, Hanson. <br />Nays (0). <br />Resolution declared adopted. <br />GAMBLING LaValle pointed out that effective January lst the City <br />ENFORCEMENT is collecting 3o from charitable gambling operations to <br />cover the cost of enforcement. In this regard, LaValle <br />suggested that the City contact the City of Minneapolis <br />to determine the cost of purchasing their computer <br />program for tracking the financial data of charitable <br />gambling organizations. In addition to the cost of the <br />program, the City should determine if Minneapolis will <br />provide training in the operation of the program. <br />Page 32 <br />
