MINUTES CITY COUNCIL JANUARY 8, 1992 The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Blesener. Ayes (4) Scalze, Blesener, Hanson, LaValle. Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. DESOTO The City Administrator reported that the net assessment STREET cost to the City for DeSoto Street is $66,230.98. EASEMENT The City's gross assessment is $91,757.49 less land value for easement purchase of $25,526.51. It is recommended that the City's cost of the net assessment come from future surpluses in TIF District 1-1. Mrs. Scalze introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION N0. 92-1-29 - AUTHORIZING THE PAYMENT OF THE CITY'S DESOTO STREET EASEMENT COSTS FROM FUTURE SURPLUSES IN TIF DISTRICT 1-1 The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by LaValle. Ayes (4) Scalze, LaValle, Aanson, Blesener. Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. RECREATION Scalze reported that the children's skating party is set for Saturday, February Sth, from 1 to 3 P.M. ice or not. Also, there will be registration at City Hall on February 27th and March 5th from 6 P.M. until 8 P.M. for T-Ball, softball, and baseball. VOUCHERS Mr. LaValle introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 92-1-30 - APPROVING THE VOUCHERS The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Blesener. Ayes (4) LaValle, Blesener, Scalze, Hanson. Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. GAMBLING LaValle pointed out that effective January lst the City ENFORCEMENT is collecting 3o from charitable gambling operations to cover the cost of enforcement. In this regard, LaValle suggested that the City contact the City of Minneapolis to determine the cost of purchasing their computer program for tracking the financial data of charitable gambling organizations. In addition to the cost of the program, the City should determine if Minneapolis will provide training in the operation of the program. Page 32
