MINUTES
CITY COUNCIL
MARCH 25, 1992
the way to County Road D.
Mr. Ehrnreiter, property owner in the area, reported
that a number of property owners are having trouble
with their wells.
Mr. Blesener introduced the following resolution and
moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION NO. 92-3-105 - ACCEPTING THE PETITION FOR
WATERMAIN IMPROVEMENT ON EDGERTON STREET BETWEEN LITTLE
CANADA ROAD AND LABORE ROAD SUBJECT TO VERIFICATION BY
THE CITY ADMINISTRATOR OF THE ADEQUACY OF THE PETITION
AND ORDERING A FEASIBILITY STUDY OF THE IMPROVEMENT IF
THE PETITION MEETS ALL REQUIREMENTS
The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by LaValle.
Ayes (5) Blesener, LaValle, Hanson, Collova, Scalze.
Nays (0).
Resolution declared adopted.
Scalze pointed out to property owners that if they are
having trouble with their wells, an watermain
improvement, even if approved, may not move very fast
especially if this project were to be tied to another
project.
Mr. Ehrnreiter stated that if more signatures are
needed to meet adequacy requirements, he will get
additional signatures.
Hanson pointed out that a project that was petitioned
for only needs 3 votes of the Council to pass, but a
project initiated by the Council requires 4 votes.
Scalze pointed out that the last time a hearing was
held for watermain improvement for this area, the
majority of the property owners did not want the
watermain. Scalze pointed out that including this
project with others would bring the cost down. Scalze
reported that there is no watermain in the Vanderbie
and LaBore Road area.
The Administrator suggested that if a feasibility study
is ordered, the Council may want to include Edgerton
Street to County Road D, as well as the Vanderbie,
Allen Avenue and LaBore Road area.
Collova asked the timing of the process.
The Administrator replied that it would take about one
month for the feasibility report to be prepared. Once
received, the Council could call a public hearing, and
Page 12
