MINUTES CITY COUNCIL APRIL 8, 1992 Scalze asked if this would impact the manner in which the City provides water to Maplewood properties on County Road B. Scalze also asked why the City of Maplewood wants to use this watermain. The Superintendent replied that Maplewood is looking to the future and looking at ways to get water to properties within the City of Maplewood. The County is currently looking at a construction project in this area, and this would be the opportune time for Maplewood to connect to the watermain as part of the County's project. Blesener pointed out that currently the 12-inch line is a dead line. This proposal would make the 12-inch line active and, therefore, more usable should there be a problem with the 24-inch line. LaValle asked if this would impact the situation with Schroeder Milk's potential connection to City watermain. The City Administrator reported that this agreement may impact the City's ability in the future to connect Maplewood properties to Little Canada watermain, but suggested that this might be appropriate. LaValle asked if there would be an impact to the proposed St. Jude development. The Superintendent replied that there would not be, and that this situation would not impact Little Canada's water supply at all. Scalze asked if there would be an impact on prospective Maplewood hook-ups on County Road B. Scalze pointed out that it is to Little Canada's advantaqe to service these properties rather than Maplewood. The Administrator did not believe there would be an impact on County Road B unless Maplewood could service the properties from the back. Blesener pointed out that Little Canada is tied into Maplewood's waterline, and Maplewood is merely trying to service their residents. The City Administrator reported that he may want to make some revisions to the Agreement in the area of maintenance. Page 10
