Resolution declared adopted.
AMEND The City Planner reported that the Planning Commission
ST. JUDE met in special session just prior to the Council's
PUD meeting this evening to review a proposed amendment to
AGREEMENT St. Jude Medical's PUD Agreement. The Planning
Commission recommended approval of the PUD amendment
subject to the recommendations of the City Planner as
contained in his report dated May 27, 1992, and subject
to removal of the existing house and garage at the time
of issuance of an occupancy permit for the new St. Jude
facility unless there are plans approved by the City
for retention of the existing house as a
conference/training center prior to December 31, 1992.
The Planner reported that he has reviewed the PUD
amendment and recommends approval subject to a
four-lane access drive, two lanes in and two lanes out,
to control traffic flow.
Bob Burrow, architect representing St. Jude reported
that the change in plan has come about in an effort to
save more of the existing trees on the property.
Burrow explained the initial proposal which included a
65,000 square foot building with 330 parking spaces.
The building area remains the same in the new plan, but
parking area has been reduced to 248 spaces. The
Zoning Code requires about 219 spaces. Burrow reported
that St. Jude plans to stagger the shifts at the
facility to minimize the overlap and resultinq demand
for parking.
Page 2
