MINUTES
CITY COUNCIL
JULY 8, 1992
have been completed, and tomorrow Presbyterian Homes
will be presenting an offer of just compensation to the
property owners.
CoDE Hanson reported that the City will be stepping up its
ENFORCEMENT code enforcement and addressing not only business and
industrial properties, but residential as well. Hanson
asked for cooperation on the part of property owners in
cleaning up their properties.
GAMBLING LaValle reported that he, the Mayor, City Administrator
ENFORCEMENT and Administrative Assistant have met on the issue of
gambling enforcement. This committee is recommending
that enforcement be done by the Administrative
Assistant at this time, through the inspection of
pull-tab site in the City as well as analysis of
monthly gamblinq reports submitted by the various
charities. A letter will be sent to the various
charitable organizations and liquor establishments with
pull-tab operations notifying them that these
inspections will begin.
LaValle reported that initially he will accompany the
Administrative Assistant on inspections of pull-tab
sites since she does not have experience in this area.
LaValle pointed out that he will receive no
compensation for this assistance. LaValle also
indicated that as the program continues, the committee
will meet again to discuss and refine the program, and
will keep the Council up-to-date on progress.
VOUCHERS
ADJOURN
The City Administrator pointed out that the committee
is proposing to use City staff in enforcement to
control costs. If this doesn't work out, the City will
then have a handle on the type of enforcement it needs,
and can hire a consultant to do the enforcement based
on these needs.
Mr. LaValle introduced the following resolution and
moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION N0. 92-7-232 - APPROVING TAE VOUCHERS
The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Blesener.
Ayes (5) LaValle, Blesener, Collova, Hanson, Scalze.
Nays (0).
