MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />JULY 8, 1992 <br />TEMPORARY <br />LIQUOR <br />LICENSE <br />LCRA <br />RESOLUTION N0. 92-7-230 - AUTHORIZING THE REMOVAL OF <br />OVERHEAD POWER LINES AT THE CITY CENTER SITE AT A COST <br />OF $1,541 PAYABLE TO NORTHERN STATES POWER <br />The foregoinq resolution was duly seconded by Blesener. <br />Ayes (5) Scalze, Blesener, Hanson, Collova, LaValle. <br />Nays (O). Resolution declared adopted. <br />Mr. Blesener introduced the following resolution and <br />moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION N0. 92-7-231 - APPROVING A TEMPORARY LIQUOR <br />LICENSE FOR THE LITTLE CANADA RECREATION ASSOCIATION IN <br />CONJUNCTION WITH THEIR KITTENBALL TOURNAMENTS AT <br />SPOONER PARK AS PART OF THE CANADIAN DAYS CELEBRATION <br />ON AUGUST 7 THROUGH 9, 1992, AND WAIVING THE TEMPORARY <br />LIQUOR LICENSE FEE A5 PART OF THIS REQUEST <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Scalze. <br />Ayes (5) Blesener, Scalze, LaValle, Hanson, Collova. <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />LEVY Scalze pointed out that the State has removed levy <br />LIMITS limits for the 1993 budget year. Scalze stated that <br />even though levy limits have been removed, she was <br />concerned that various departments in the City might <br />feel that there are no limits in planning for the 1993 <br />Budget. Scalze felt that the Council should impose its <br />own levy limit. <br />Blesener agreed that there was a need for a limit in <br />planning the 1993 Budget, however, felt that the City <br />Administrator had done a good job in controlling and <br />presenting the budget in the past. Blesener suggested <br />that the City Administrator keep this issue in mind <br />when preparing the 1993 Budget. <br />Scalze pointed out the high taxes in the City, and felt <br />that this was a policy question that the Council should <br />address. <br />ECONOMIC Hanson reported that LEB Development has contacted Mr. <br />DEVELOPMENT Gaqne regarding the next phase of the Kandice Heights <br />development. <br />Hanson further reported that Presbyterian Homes is <br />currently negotiating on the purchase of the property <br />for the senior housing development it is planning. <br />The City Administrator reported that review appraisals <br />Page 20 <br />
