MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />AUGUST 26, 1992 <br />CLOSED The City Attorney requested a closed session following <br />SESSION the meeting to discuss the Favis/Marshal hazardous <br />building as well as the Ryan Drive road improvement <br />matters. Both matters involve potential litigation. <br />Mr. Blesener introduced the following resolution and <br />moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION N0. 92-8-284 - AUTHORIZING A CLOSED SESSION <br />FOLLOWING THIS EVENING'S MEETING TO DISCUSS THE <br />FAVIS/MARSHAL HAZARDOUS BUILDING AND THE RYAN DRIVE <br />ROAD IMPROVEMENT <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by LaValle. <br />Ayes (5) Blesener, LaValle, Hanson, Scalze, Collova. <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />AUTO SALES Scalze reported that the Community Pride Committee <br />discussed the subject of auto sales within the City. <br />It was their feeling that their primary focus was <br />community pride and clean-up of the City, unless the <br />Council wanted to specifically refer this matter to <br />them. <br />It was the consensus of the Council that the auto sales <br />issue should be reviewed by the Planning Commission. <br />Mrs. Scalze introduced the following resolution and <br />moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION N0. 92-8-285 - REFERRING THE ISSUE OF AUTO <br />SALES TO THE PLANNING COMMISSION FOR STUDY AND <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Blesener <br />Ayes (5) Scalze, Blesener, Hanson, Collova, LaValle. <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />LITTLE The City Administrator reported that there is a balance <br />CANADA of $5,072 plus interest earnings in the Little Canada <br />SCHOOL School Project Fund. The charities which originally <br />PROJECT made the donation for the school project, have <br />FUND requested that the remaining $5,072 be spent towards a <br /> monument structure of some kind recognizing the <br /> original Fire Department. The charities have indicated <br /> that the interest earnings could go into the 10% <br /> Capital Improvement Fund to be spent as the City sees <br /> fit. <br />Blesener suggested that the Historical Society be <br />contacted for their input into the monument. <br />Page 10 <br />
