MINUTES
CITY COUNCIL
OCTOBER 28, 1992
RYAN DRIVE Collova asked the status of the Ryan Drive improvement.
The City Administrator reported that a meeting is
scheduled with City staff, the City Attorney and City
Engineer and representatives of the Ryan Industrial
Park business owners, Art Ryan and his attorney to
discuss street improvements within the Park. A report
will be made to the Council shortly.
WATER WORKS The City Administrator reported that a resolution of
TRAIL the City's concern about the Water Works trail
IMPROVEMENT agreement has been reached with the St. Paul Water
Department.
The City Attorney reported that he has reviewed the
agreement and it appears to be in order.
Scalze noted that the low bid for improvement of a
trail on the Water Works property from Country Drive to
South Owasso Blvd. was received from Buck Blacktop in
the amount of $38,355. The Park Consultant's estimate
for this improvement was $35,000.
The City Administrator noted the amount of street
construction scheduled in the City for 1993, and
suggested that since the trail improvement would not be
done until next year, it may be more economical to
include the trail improvement in with the street
projects.
It was the consensus of the Council that the City
Administrator should discuss this with the Park
Consultant to determine the most economical way to
handle the improvement, noting that the low bid is
above estimate.
Mrs. Scalze introduced the following resolution and
moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION NO. 92-10-393 - AUTHORIZING AWARD OF THE LOW
BID OF BUCK BLACKTOP IN THE AMOUNT OF $38,355 FOR WATER
WORKS TRAIL IMPROVEMENT SUBJECT TO APPROVAL BY THE CITY
ADMINISTRATOR AND PARK CONSULTANT AFTER THEIR
DETERMINATION TAAT THIS WOULD BE THE MOST ECONOMICAL
WAY TO HANDLE THIS IMPROVEMENT
The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Blesener.
Ayes (5) Scalze, Blesener, Aanson, Collova, LaValle.
Nays (0).
