MINUTES
CITY COUNCIL
DECEMBER 15, 1992
Blesener indicated that this was his last meeting as a
City Council Member, and thanked the citizens for the
opportunity to serve for the last eight years.
Blesener felt that the two newly-elected Council
Members would do an excellent job.
Scalze acknowledged the good job that Blesener has done
as Council Member and the great deal of time that he
put into the job. Scalze felt that Blesener should be
commended for his performance as Council Member.
LaValle agreed.
Hanson agreed with Scalze's comments, and indicated
that he would miss Blesener, and his willingness to act
on issues and keep the meetings flowing. Hanson wished
Blesener well in his future endeavors.
VARIANCE & Aanson opened the public hearing to consider
CUP application for 8-foot Variance for side yard setback
2354 and Conditional Use Permit to expand a non-conforming
GREENBRIER single-family house located at 2354 Greenbrier Street
JOHN GRABRICK submitted by John Grabrick.
Scalze noted that rather than grant the Variance, the
Planning Commission has suggested that Mr. Grabrick
attempt to purchase some property from his neighbor.
Scalze reported that there was a similar situation in
1988, however, in that situation the house was actually
encroaching over the property line. A variance was
granted in this situation since there was not enough
property available to purchase to resolve the
encroachment issue.
Scalze felt that Grabrick should attempt to purchase
property from his neighbor to get the non-conforming
situation resolved.
Mr. Grabrick reported that he did attempt to purchase
property from his neighbor, Mr. Ryan, in 1988. At that
time Mr. Ryan indicated that the lot was too small and
he did not wish to sell a portion of it. Grabrick
reported that he recently made a similar offer, but Mr.
Ryan has not yet responded to that offer. Grabrick
pointed out that if Mr. Ryan refuses to sell, there is
nothing that he can do.
Paqe 2
