MINUTES OF THE WORKSHOP MEETING CITY COUNCIL LITTLE CANADA, MINNESOTA FEBRUARY 10, 1993 Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a workshop meeting of the Council of the City of Little Canada, Minnesota was held on the 10th day of February, 1993 in the Council Chambers of the City Center located at 515 Little Canada Road in said City. Mayor Raymond G. Hanson chaired and called the meeting to order at 6:30 P.M., and the following members of the Council were present at roll call: MEMBERS PRESENT: Mayor Mr. Raymond Hanson Counoil Member Mr. Jim LaValle Council Member Mr. Steve Morelan Council Member Mr. Bob Pedersen Council Member Mrs. Beverly Scalze ALSO PRESENT: City Admin. Mr. Joel Hanson City Attorney Mr. Tom Sweeney Cable TV Prod. Mr. Bill Bruce Recording Sec. Mrs. Kathy Glanzer GAMBLING The Mayor reported that the purpose of tonight's ISSUES workshop was to continue discussions of gambling issues that were addressed at a similar workshop on January 27, 1993. The Mayor indicated that there was a news report on one of the local TV stations this evening that the workshop was being held to look into allegations that have been made against some individuals involved in some of the local charities. This is totally untrue, and not the intent of tonight's workshop. The Mayor pointed out that the January 27th workshop was called with the intent of considering formation of a citizens' committee to look at gambling issues in the City, and tonight's workshop is a continuation of that. The Mayor also pointed out that there is no charity operating in Little Canada that is in violation of the City's gambling ordinance. The City qambling ordinance went into effect January 1, 1992, and since that time the City has been receiving all the audit and monthly reports for each charity operating within the City. Page 1
