MINUTES OF THE WORK5HOP MEETING <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />LITTLE CANADA, MINNESOTA <br />JANUARY 27, 1993 <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a workshop <br />meeting of the Council of the City of Little Canada, <br />Minnesota was held on the 27th day of January, 1993 in <br />the Council Chambers of the City Center located at 515 <br />Little Canada Road in said City. <br />Mayor Raymond G. Hanson chaired and called the meeting <br />to order at 6:30 P.M., and the following members of the <br />Council were present at roll call: <br />MEMBERS PRESENT: <br />Mayor <br />Council Member <br />Council Member <br />Council Member <br />Council Member <br />Mr. Raymond Aanson <br />Mr. Jim LaValle <br />Mr. Steve Morelan <br />Mr. Bob Pedersen <br />Mrs. Beverly Scalze <br />ALSO PRESENT: <br />City Admin. <br />Recording Sec. <br />Mr. Joel Hanson <br />Mrs. Kathy Glanzer <br />CHARITABLE Hanson reported that the purpose of tonight's workshop <br />GAMBLING meeting was to take input from the public regarding <br />charitable gambling issues in the City. Hanson <br />reported that the Council has heard that the general <br />public has concerns that they would like to bring <br />forth. The Council has discussed the possibility of <br />forming a citizens committee to address any concerns <br />that there might be. <br />LaValle pointed out that the purpose of toniyht's <br />meeting is not to debate the merits of current issues <br />that may be going on with the court system. <br />Scalze reported that it was her beli~=.f that when the <br />general public is asking questions, the Council should <br />involve them to assist in fincling the answers. Scalze <br />felt that anytime the City could get the general public <br />more involved, that was good. <br />Hanson pointed out that there is no prepared agenda for <br />tonight's meetiny. There are members of the general <br />public present as well as the owner of the Little <br />Canada Bingo Hall and representatives of some of the <br />charities. Hanson asked those present to voice their <br />comments or concerns. <br />Page 1 <br />
