MINUTES
CITY COUNCIL
FEBRUARY 24, 1993
RESOLUTION NO. 93-2-45 - APPROVING THE AMENDMENT TO
PLANNED UNIT DEVELOPMENT TO ALLOW FOR ADDITIONAL
ACCESSORY STORAGE STRUCTURES AT KNOX LUMBER, 3203
COUNTRY DRIVE~ SUBJECT TO COMPLIANCE WITH THE
RECOMMENDATIONS OF THE CITY PLANNER AS CONTAINED IN HIS
REPORT DATED FEBRUARY 8, 1993 AND SUBJECT TO THE CITY
ENGINEER'S REVIEW OF DRAINAGE
The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Pedersen.
Ayes (4) LaValle, Pedersen, Scalze, Morelan.
Nays (O). Resolution declared adopted.
CUP FOR Scalze opened the public hearing to consider the
TEMPORARY application for Conditional Use Permit to allow for
OUTDOOR temporary outdoor sales and displays at the Market
SALES Place Shopping Center, 2900 Rice Street, as requested
LINDER'S by Linder's Greenhouses. Scalze noted that the
GREENHOUSES Planning Commission recommended approval subject to the
recommendations of the City Planner and subject to the
Option B site plan.
Pete Linder, Linder's Greenhouses, reported that they
have been setting up temporary flower marts for a
number of years in various communities. Linder submitted pictures showing what
the flower mart would look like and pointed out that it
is a very professional looking display.
Scalze noted the comment from the Planning Commission
meeting that there would be no on-site storage of
anything once the season is over. The building would
be dismantled and removed from the site along with all
the materials.
LaValle asked about parking, handicapped parkinq and
traffic flow.
Mary Ann O'Kane reported that the handicapped parking
for the Market Place Shopping Center is not located
near the corner of the site where the flower mart would
be.
