MINUTES CITY COUNCIL FEBRUARY 24, 1993 AMENDMENT Scalze opened the public hearing to consider an TO PUD amendment to a Planned Unit Development to allow for KNOX LUMBER additional accessory storage structures at Knox Lumber at 3203 Country Drive. Scalze noted that the Planning Commission has recommended approval subject to compliance with the recommendations of the City Planner. Truman Howell, representing Payless Cashways, owner of Knox Lumber, appeared before the Council. Howell reported that Knox Lumber is proposing to construct three storage structures to protect materials from the weather. Howell presented a picture of what the structure would look like. Howell reported that Knox suffers a large loss of materials due to weather. Scalze asked if there is a PUD on the Knox site due to the number of buildings. The City Planner reported that the PUD originated when Knox put in their garden supply area, and agreed that the PUD was required because of the number of buildings on the site. LaValle asked the location of the storage structures. Howell replied that the structures would be located in the southeast portion of the site, where presently there are unprotected materials stored. Howell presented a site plan of the site, which he described for the Council. Aowell pointed out that there will be a 40 foot separation between the structures to allow clearance for vehicles. There was no one from the general public wishing to comment on this matter. Morelan asked what the canopy would be constructed of. Howell reported that the canopy would be metal with a metal roof. There would be a 14 foot clearance to the bottom of the roof, and 17 feet to the top of the structure. Upon motion by LaValle, seconded by Scalze, the public hearing was closed. Mr. LaValle introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: Page 2
