MIN[TPES OF THE WORKSIIOP MEETING <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />LITTLE CANADA, MINNESOTA <br />APRIL 7, 1993 <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a workshop meeting <br />of the City Council of the City of Little Canada, Minnesota <br />was held on the 7th day of April, 1993 in the conference <br />room of the City Center located at 515 East Little Canada <br />Road in said City. <br />Mayor Raymond Hanson chaired and called the meeting to order <br />at 6:05 p.m., and the following members of the Council were <br />present at roll call: <br />MEMBERS PRESENT: Mayor Mr. Raymond Hanson <br />Council Member Mrs. Beverly Scalze <br />Council Member Mr. Jim LaValle <br />Council Member Mr. Steve Morelan <br />Council Member Mr. Bob Pedersen <br />ALSO PRESENT: Mr. Joel Hanson, City Administrator <br />Mr. Mike Lynch, City Engineer <br />Mr. Chuck Nagel, Interested Citizen <br />ASSESSMENT Mayor Hanson indicated that a previous meetinq has been held <br />POLICY on the assessment policy and the City Administrator has <br />since supplied the Council with more insight as to what was <br />previously discussed. <br />The City Administrator felt that the information on the <br />street widths should be reviewed first. He stated that <br />Council Member Pedersen had contacted him regarding a <br />discrepancy on a street width that was previously given to <br />the Council. The Administrator stated that Public Works has <br />re-measured various streets within the City and their <br />findinqs have been given to the Council for their review <br />this evening. The Administrator felt that based on his <br />review of the material, the City has been following the <br />street width policy set. The difference in street widths <br />given to the Council is based on surmountable curb being <br />measured from the back of the curb to the back of the curb. <br />Therefore, a 32 foot wide section only gives a 30 foot wide <br />driving surface. The Administrator stated that all the <br />roadways were measured from the gutter or pavement line. <br />Morelan asked if the angle on a surmountable curb was <br />considered a driving surface. The Engineer stated that <br />typically surmountable curb is done back to back and B618 is <br />done face to face when talking about street widths. He <br />indicated that the driving surface is usually not considered <br />along that edge. The Engineer stated that Costa Lane has <br />-1- <br />
