MINUTES
CITY COUNCIL
MARCH 26, 2025
Gutierrez introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption:
RESOLUTIONNO. 2025-3-50 —APPROVING THE 2025 CONTRACT WITH RES PYRO
FOR TWO FIREWORKS SHOWS ONAUGUST 1 AND 2, 2025, SUBJECT TO
SUBMISSION OF THE PROOF OF INSURANCE
The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Kwapick.
Ayes (4). Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted.
SECOND AMENDMENT TO REPUBLIC HAULER AGREEMENT TO ADD PARTIAL
YARD WASTE RATE & BULKY -ONLY RATES
The Acting City Administrator stated that this is the second amendment proposed to the hauling
contract. She provided some background information on partial yard waste services and noted that it is
proposed to include the same context that had been used in the past to formalize the billing. She
provided additional information on bulky -only rates, noting that there are only ten accounts that the
language applies to, and the necessary language is proposed to be included in the contract. She
provided additional details on the proposed charge for that service and recommended approval of the
amendments. She noted that if the amendments are approved, the necessary change would also need to
be made to the City's Fee Schedule.
Mayor Fischer stated that this clarifies services that have been provided for years and simply needed to
be included in the contract.
Miller asked for clarification on when the partial yard waste rate would be triggered, specifically if it is
only during October/November, and whether someone adding in September would pay the full rate.
The Acting City Administrator confirmed that the partial rate would apply to those who are new
customers adding in October/November. She stated that this attempts to avoid people who decide to
add and then cancel on a cycle.
Miller introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION NO. 2025-3-51— APPROVING THE SECOND AMENDMENT TO THE
MUNICIPAL MA TERIALS MANA GEMENT A GREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF
LITTLE CANADA AND ALLIED WASTE SER VICES OF NOR TH AMERICA, LL C DBA
REPUBLIC SERVICES OF THE TWIN CITIES FOR REFUSE SERVICES AS
AMENDED
The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Kwapick.
Ayes (4).
