MINUTES
CITY COUNCIL
APRIL 28, 1993
be spent on the developed residential areas. There is
the need to control costs, and the Administrator felt
that he could work with the City Planner on that issue.
LaValle noted that there needed to be a definite
commitment on the part of the Planning Commission to
this process.
Scalze agreed, but indicated that the City Council
would need to be heavily involved in the prooess as
well.
Drabik felt there was a need for more joint discussions
between the Council, Planning Commission, and Community
Pride Committee on a regular basis.
Morelan reported that he was just made aware of the
existence of the Community Pride Committee, and stated
that he can see a need for a group such as this.
Morelan suggested that perhaps there was a need to open
up the committee to more members of the community.
The City Administrator pointed out that updating of the
Comp Plan will take effort on the part of all City
groups and staff to make the process work.
DeLonais pointed out the properties for sale along the
north side of Little Canada Road just east of Jackson
Street. DeLonais asked what the City will do if a
developer comes in with a proposal for this area. It
was pointed out that the front approximately 150 feet
of this area is zoned commercial, and there is
residential property just north of that.
Schletty pointed out that this area was addressed in
the 1978 Comp Plan document, so there is some basis
that can be used should a proposal come in to the City.
Pedersen felt that this was an example of where the
Plan needed to be updated to ensure that the City gets
high-quality development.
DeLonais pointed out that the Zoning Map was recently
updated, however, there were some omissions that need
to be addressed.
The City Administrator reported that staff is working
on the base maps, and the Zoning Maps would be
corrected.
Hanson suggested that the Council and Commissioners
look at the Zoning Maps and survey the various
properties to see what they look at.
Page 8
