MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />MAY 12, 1993 <br />Morelan agreed, as long as it was profitable for <br />everyone involved. Morelan stated that when the <br />overall atmosphere is the City becomes anti-gambling, <br />then it would be time to get out. <br />Morelan and Scalze indicated that they were willing to <br />go another round on the issue. <br />The Administrative Assistant pointed out that the <br />Little Canada Bingo Hall license is scheduled on the <br />May 26th Council agenda for renewal. This is the <br />latest that the Council can act on this item, since <br />renewal needed to be scheduled on the June Gambling <br />Control Board agenda. <br />Fahey pointed out that the City could let the current <br />license lapse until the issues are all resolved. <br />LaValle agreed, pointing out that Arden Hills' bingo <br />hall was closed down for 30 days, and that did not hurt <br />business. <br />Matson hoped that the bingo hall would not be shut down <br />for any period of time feelinq that it may kill the <br />hall. Matson indicated that the bottom line is that if <br />the charities do not generate more business and cut <br />expenses, they will not be in business. <br />LaValle recommend that this evening's workshop be <br />continued until Thursday, May 20th, at 7:30 P.M. and <br />that during the time prior to the workshop, the <br />organizations do some negotiating and bring back rental <br />packages from both the Little Canada Bingo Hall and <br />TCF.
