MINUTES
CITY COUNCIL
MAY 26~ 1993
Warehouse and can understand some of the points they
have raised. Morelan also felt that there was more
involved than just the rent issue. Morelan pointed out
that two years ago there were five organizations
running a good business at the LCBH, and today there
are two. At least two of the three organizations that
left have stated that one of their biggest reasons for
leaving was the rent at Mover's Warehouse. Morelan
pointed out that the issue of a City-imposed rent
control was discussed long before he was even on the
Council. Mover's Warehouse was aware that the tenants
are unhappy and have not been willing to do enough to
resolve that issue. Now there is another landlord
interested, and Mover's Warehouse is still not willing
to do anything about the rent issue. Morelan stated
that to him there is something wrong with the picture.
Morelan stated that the choice seems obvious that
unless there is some reason the City should renew the
Mover's Warehouse bingo hall license, there is no other
alternative but to not renew.
Hanson pointed out that the issue of renewal of the
Mover's Warehouse bingo hall license is on the agenda
of the regular Council meeting which is scheduled to
begin at 7:30 P.M. this evening.
There being no further business, the meeting was
adjourned at 7:11 P.M.
~
/ ~ i
~ li/~~7~?~~7'-!'l ~~ ~ ~'~iJ?~2.~-7R-~
Ra.."rid G.
