MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />JUNE 8, 1993 <br />Mr. Morelan introduced the following resolution and <br />moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 93-6-159 - APPROVING THE MINUTES OF THE <br />MAY 26, 1993 REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MEETING AS SUBMITTED <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Scalze. <br />Ayes (4j Morelan, Scalze, Hanson, Pedersen. <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />Mrs. 5calze introduced the following resolution and <br />moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 93-6-160 - APPROVING THE MINUTES OF THE <br />MAY 26, 1993 CLOSED COUNCIL MEETING AS SUBMITTED <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Pedersen. <br />Ayes (4) Scalze, Pedersen, Hanson, Morelan. <br />Nays (O). Resolution declared adopted. <br />ANNOUNCE- On behalf of the Council Mayor Hanson congratulated the <br />MENTS members of the Class of 1993. Hanson reported that the <br />Cable Commission has awarded 10 $1,400 scholarships to <br />graduating high school students, while the North Ramsey <br />500th Lions Club has awarded 17 $1,000 scholarships. <br />LEGISLATIVE State Representatives Mindy Greiling and Mark Asch <br />UPDATE appeared before the Council to provide a legislative <br />update as well as offer their assistance to the City <br />should the Council have any specific area of interest <br />or concern. Greiling and Asch provided the Counoil <br />with a packet containing a summary of major law chanqes <br />from the 1993 Legislative Session. Greiling <br />highlighted the recently created Board on Innovation <br />and Cooperation reporting that there is $1.2 million in <br />grant money available to cities interested in applying <br />for innovation grants. Greiling also summarized <br />estimates of property taxes for Little Canada residents <br />based on 1994 budget estimates submitted by the City, <br />Council, School District and other taxing <br />jurisdictions. Based on these estimates the tax burden <br />on a low valued homestead property would increase by <br />6.4% or $52 for pay 1994 taxes; for an average valued <br />home the increase would be b.4% or $93; high valued <br />Page 2 <br />
