MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />JUNE 8, 1993 <br />home taxes would increase 6.3% or $142; and exceedingly <br />high valued home 6.3% or $246. Greiling reported that <br />both she and Representative Asch did not support the <br />School Aid Bill, however, they were among 28 of 134 <br />legislators taking that position. Therefore, it is <br />their feeling that attention needs to be focused on <br />property taxes. <br />Representative Asch reported that both he and Greiling <br />want very much to help Little Canada and encouraged the <br />Council to contact them for any assistance they might <br />need. Asch pointed out that the City's representatives <br />can only be of assistance when they know the City's <br />needs. <br />Scalze encouraged the Legislators to keep the City <br />informed of anything at the Legislature that it should <br />be aware of. <br />Greiling suggested some study sessions this summer to <br />discuss items of mutual interest and how the City and <br />its Legislators can better work together. <br />The Council thanked Greiling and Asch for their <br />presentations. <br />BINGO HALL The City Attorney reported that the information before <br />LICENSE the Council this evening regarding the application for <br />renewal of the Mover's Warehouse bingo hall license is <br />the same as was presented at the last Council meeting. <br />The question still remains on prospective tenants that <br />would be leasing from Mover's Warehouse. Sweeney <br />pointed out a letter in the agenda indicating that <br />Mover's Warehouse is currently negotiating leases with <br />three additional charities. <br />LaValle asked if these three charities currently <br />operate within the City at this time. <br />Hanson reported the the Ramsey 500th Lions Club does <br />not conduct any charitable gambling in the City of <br />Little Canada. They do have pull tab sites, but they <br />are not located within Little Canada. The Mayor <br />indicated that to his knowledge the other two charities <br />listed do not conduct any type of charitable gambling <br />within the City. <br />The City Administrator indicated that <br />that the Humane Society and TSE, Inc. <br />City's requirement of having a Little <br />address for the past three years, but <br />whether the Lions Club met that requi <br />Page 3 <br />he would assume <br />do not meet the <br />Canada business <br />was not sure <br />rement. <br />
