MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />JUNE 15, 1993 <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by LaValle. <br />Ayes (4) Morelan, LaValle, Hanson, Pedersen. <br />Nays (1) Scalze. Resolution declared adopted. <br />Mr. Morelan introduced the following resolution and <br />moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 93-6-178 - APPROVING A PREMISE PERMIT <br />APPLICATION FOR CLASS A LICENSE FOR LITTLE CANADA <br />CHARITY PLUS, INC. IN ORDER TO OPERATE BINGO AT THE <br />MARKET PLACE SHOPPING CENTER LOCATED AT 2900 RICE <br />STREET AS REQUESTED NOTING THAT THE APPLICATION PACKAGE <br />INCLUDES A LEASE AGREEMENT WITH MKP, INC. WHICH <br />PROVIDES A ROTATION SCHEDULE FOR THE SITE WHICH ALLOWS <br />LITTLE CANADA CHARITY PLUS, INC. TO OPERATE TWO NIGHTS <br />PER WEEK AT THE SITE SUBJECT TO COMPLIANCE WITH ALL <br />TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE CANADA'S <br />GAMBLING ORDINANCE <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Pedersen. <br />Ayes (5) Morelan, LaValle, Scalze, Hanson, Pedersen. <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />Morelan asked about the residency requirement in the <br />gambling ordinance as applies to Lake owasso Residence <br />Volunteer Council. <br />The City Attorney reported that the ordinance provides <br />that the requirement of an address within the City for <br />three years can be waived for an existing organization <br />subsequent to the passage of the ordinance which was <br />enacted in November of 1991. The City Attorney pointed <br />out that on April 22, 1992 Lake Owasso applied for and <br />was granted approval of a premise permit renewal, <br />therefore, would fall under the exemption provision of <br />the ordinance. <br />Scalze stated that she would not support the Lake <br />Owasso premise permit application since approval will <br />increase the number of days allocated to non-local <br />charities at the expense of local charities. <br />Mr. LaValle introduced the following resolution and <br />moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 93-6-179 - APPROVING A PREMISE PERMIT <br />APPLICATION FOR CLASS A LICENSE FOR LAKE OWASSO <br />RESIDENCE VOLUNTEER COUNCIL IN ORDER TO OPERATE BINGO <br />AT THE MARKET PLACE SHOPPING CENTER LOCATED AT 2900 <br />RICE STREET AS REQUESTED NOTING THAT THE APPLICATION <br />PACKAGE INCLUDES A LEASE AGREEMENT WITH MKP, INC.
