MINUTES
CITY COUNCIL
JULY 14, 1993
pending at this point, but the Fire Department
anticipated that it would be submitted within the next
couple of days. The Administrator reported that the
Department has reported that the terms of the lease
include a$600 monthly rent with a clause to review
that amount after three months to determine if an
adjustment based on volume is warranted. The
Department also reported that hours of operation of a
pull-tab booth would be limited during the summer
months when bowling leagues are not in operation, thus
a rent reduction would occur during those months. The
Administrator pointed out that it was the Council's
decision whether or not to act on the application
without the lease at this point, but the Fire
Department has hoped to expedite the matter so as not
to delay their submission for approval to the Gambling
Control Board, which meets on a monthly basis.
Scalze pointed out that the lease provides the Council
with rent information, and noted that the City's
gambling ordinance does not provide for rent control.
The State has imposed a maximum monthly pull tab rent
of $1,000.
Mrs. Scalze introduced the following resolution and
moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION NO. 93-7-216 - APPROVING APPLICATION FOR
PREMISE PERMIT FOR CLASS B LICENSE FOR THE LITTLE
CANADA VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENT FOR PULL-TAB SITE AT
THE SAXON LANES AND LOUNGE PENDING RECEIPT OF
APPROPRIATE LEASE DOCUMENT
The foreqoing resolution was duly seconded by LaValle.
Ayes (5) Scalze, LaValle, Pedersen, Morelan, Hanson.
Nays (0).
