MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />AUGUST 25, 1993 <br />Pedersen did not believe that shooting 2 or 3 deer <br />would solve the problem, pointing out the large deer <br />population in surrounding cities. <br />Hanson reported that the City of Vadnais Heights <br />annually approves a few requests by truck farmers for <br />hunting deer by bow and arrow. <br />Council agreed that with the large deer population in <br />the surroundinq area, there is little that can be done <br />to prevent crop damage in the City. The City <br />Administrator was asked to put together some options <br />for consideration. <br />REQUEST The City Administrator reviewed the request of <br />TO EXTEND Frattalone Excavating for extension of completion <br />COMFLETION date from August 31st to September 17th due to their <br />DATE late start and wet conditions. The Administrator <br />ED6ERTON reported that this does not address the completion <br />WATER MAIN date issue for the Vanderbie/Al1en and Costa Lane <br /> projects. <br /> Morelan pointed out that these projects are occurring <br /> in the middle of existing residential neighborhoods, <br /> and extention of the completion date is an alternative <br /> to allowing the contractor to work evenings. <br /> Mr. LaValle introduced the following resolution and <br /> moved its adoption: <br /> RESOLUTION N0. 93-8-271 - APPROVING THE EXTENSION OF <br /> THE EDGERTON WATER MAIN COMPLETION DATE FROM AUGUST 31, <br /> 1993 TO SEPTEMBER 17, 1993 BASED ON THE RECOMMENDATION <br /> OF THE CITY ADMINISTRATOR AND CITY ENGINEER <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Pedersen. <br />Ayes (5) LaValle, Pedersen, Aanson, Scalze, Morelan. <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />ABATEMEN'P Hanson reported that the City has received numerous <br />OF complaints about tall weeds on properties, and it <br />NUISANCES some times becomes a long drawn out process to get <br />these problems addressed. <br />The City Administrator reported that the ordinance <br />requires that such matters come to the Council for <br />ordering of a nuisance abatement. The ordinance also <br />requires the notification of property owners of the <br />nuisance by registered mail. The Administrator <br />reported that there may be a need to amend the <br />ordinance to streamline the process, rather than bring <br />Page 24 <br />
