MINi1TES
CITY COUNCIL
AUGUST 25, 1993
LaValle indicated that at the Planning Commission
meeting there were two residents present, one who
complained about a theft from the parking lot of Fleur
Royal which had nothing to do with Gordies, and the
other asking for some landscaping of the filled area.
Morelan pointed out that 153 notices were sent on this
application, and the City received 3 complaints.
Pedersen asked how the landscaping issue would be
addressed.
Morelan indicated that the Code Enforcement Officer
should stop by the property and discuss this with the
property owner.
The City Planner suggested that the property owner be
given a time limit within which to complete the
landscaping. LaValle suggested a time limit of June 1,
1994.
Pedersen was concerned that with the fact that time and
again approvals are granted subject to certain
conditions, and those conditions are never enforced.
Scalze felt it was a shame that the Council had to
address those kinds of issues, and indicated that the
Building Official should be following up on issues such
as turf restoration once a fill permit is granted.
Unfortunately, the Council has to discuss these things
because they are not taken care of.
Mr. LaValle introduced the following resolution and
moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION NO. 83-8-259 - APPROVING A CONDITIONAL USE
PERMIT TO ALLOW OUTDOOR COMMERCIAL RECREATION
(VOLLEYBALL) AT A LOCATION THAT SERVES ALCOIiOLIC
BEVERAGES, THAT IS GORDIES PLACE, 201 EAST LITTLE
CANADA ROAD, SUBJECT TO THE RECOMMENDATIONS OF THE
PLANNING COMMISSION THAT THE VOLLEYBALL OPERATION BE
LIMITED TO FOUR NIGHTS PER WEEK WITH A COMPLETION TIME
OF 10 P.M. FOR GAMES, SUBJECT TO THE RECOMMENDATIONS OF
THE CITY PLANNER AS CONTAINED IN HIS REPORT DATED
AUGUST 6, 1993, AND SUBJECT TO COMPLETION OF TURF
RESTORATION ON THE FILLED AREA BY JUNE 1, 1994
The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Morelan.
Ayes (5) LaValle, Morelan, Hanson, Pedersen, Scalze.
Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted.
Page 8
