MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />SEPTEMBER 8, 1993 <br />Mr. Morelan introduced the following resolution and <br />moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 93-9-282 - INSTRUCTING CITY STAFF TO PUT <br />TOGETHER A PROPOSED PEDESTRIAN PATHWAY MASTER PLAN FOR <br />SUBMISSION TO THE PLANNING COMMISSION AND PARK & <br />RECREATION COMMISSION FOR THEIR REVIEW AND COMMENT <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Pedersen. <br />Ayes (4) Morelan, Pedersen, Hanson, LaValle. <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />Morelan reported that at the Nadeau Park dedication <br />ceremony there was discussion with the residents of the <br />Jackson Street area regarding their concern for <br />pedestrian safety. Residents are concerned about the <br />speed of traffic traveling along Jackson Street. <br />Morelan suggested that staff contact the Ramsey County <br />Sheriff's Department to get their opinion as to whether <br />or not a problem exists, and if so, options for solving <br />that problem. <br />Harold Feichert, 2590 Jackson Street, reported that <br />there are a lot of children walking along Jackson <br />Street to and from school or waiting for the school <br />bus. Traffic speeds are fast and there are <br />approximately 4,000 cars per day on that street. <br />Feichert believed that the problem needed to be <br />addressed before someone is seriously hurt. <br />The City Administrator indicated that staff would <br />contact the Sheriff's Department for their <br />recommendations. <br />WESTWIND Mr. LaValle introduced the following resolution and <br />EASII~ffii`P moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 93-9-283 - ACCEPTING THE WESTWIND TRAIL <br />AND LANDSCAPING EASEMENT AS DEDICATED BY DAVID AND <br />KATHLEEN RONDEAU <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Pedersen. <br />Ayes (4) LaValle, Pedersen, Hanson, Morelan. <br />Nays (O).
