MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />SEPTEMBER 8, 1993 <br />Mr. LaValle introduced the following resolution and <br />moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 93-9-280 - AUTHORIZING THE CITY <br />ADMINISTRATOR TO HIRE MARY GRANLEY AS THE CITY'S <br />FULL-TIME RECEPTIONIST <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Pedersen. <br />Ayes (4) LaValle, Pedersen, Hanson, Morelan. <br />Nays (O). Resolution declared adopted. <br />CONSUMPTION Council reviewed the application submitted by My Le Hoa <br />& DISPLAY Chinese Restaurant for a Consumption & Display License <br />LICENSE - to be used for banquets and private parties as part of <br />MY LE HOA their business at 2900 Rice Street. Staff reported <br />that the application is in order. <br />Mr. LaValle introduced the following resolution and <br />moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 93-9-281 - APPROVING THE APPLICATION FOR <br />CONSUMPTION & DISPLAY LICENSE AS SUBMITTED BY MY LE AOA <br />CHINESE RESTAURANT, 2900 RICE STREET <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Morelan. <br />Ayes (4) LaValle, Morelan, Hanson, Pedersen. <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />PEDESTRIAN The City Administrator reported that the need is <br />SYSTEM evident for a master plan for pedestrian pathway <br />MASTER PLAN system. The Administrator suggested that once such a <br />plan is adopted by the City, it would be incorporated <br />into the City's capital improvement system. The <br />Administrator suggested that the first step would be <br />for the staff to put together a proposed system using <br />criteria such as traffic counts, hazardous areas, and <br />existing trends. That proposal would then be presented <br />to the Planning Commission and Park & Rec Commission <br />for their review and comment. An informational meeting <br />for the general public would also be held by either the <br />City Council or Park & Recreation Commission to obtain <br />public input. <br />Pedersen agreed that such a plan was needed, and felt <br />that the plan should include access from one <br />neighborhood to another. <br />The City Administrator reported that the City is <br />planning a lot of future street work, and pedestrian <br />pathways could be tied into the same contract for the <br />street work as it occurs. <br />Page 7 <br />
