MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING CITY COUNCIL LITTLE CANADA, MINNESOTA 14, 1993 Pursuant to due call and notice the Council of the City of Little Canada, Minnesota reconvened its regular meeting which was held on the 8th day of September, 1993 in the Council Chambers of the City Center located at 515 Little Canada Road in said City on this 14th day of September, 1993. Mayor Raymond Hanson chaired and called the meeting to order at 7:15 P.M. and the following members of the Council were present at roll call: MEMBERS PRESENT: Mayor Mr. Raymond Hanson Council Member Mr. Jim LaValle Council Member Mr. Bob Pedersen MEMBERS ABSENT: Council Member Mr. Steve Morelan Council Member Mrs. Bev Scalze ALSO PRESENT: City Admin. Mr. Joel Hanson Bldg. Official Mr. John Palacio Cable TV Prod. Mr. Bill Bruce Recording Sec. Mrs. Kathy Glanzer 1994 The City Administrator presented the proposed 1994 BUDGET Budqet to the City Council. The Administrator reported REVIEW that the City must certify its preliminary levy to Ramsey County by tomorrow so that levy amount can be used in the Truth in Taxation hearing notices which are sent out on a parcel-specific basis. Once the preliminary levy is certified, as the Council refines the 1994 Budget, the levy amount can be decreased, but cannot be increased. The Administrator pointed out that there will be supplemental workshops to fine-tune the 1994 Budget prior to the end of the year. The main purpose tonight is to adopt a preliminary levy amount that the Council is comfortable will achieve what the City wants to do in 1994. The Administrator recommended no major expenditure reductions this evening since there are two members of the Council absent. The Administrator felt it necessary to have the full Council present to provide input on expenditure information. The Administrator also discussed the supplementary budget information Page 1
