MINUTES CITY COUNCIL OCTOBER 13, 1993 LETTER DATED OCTOBER 8, 1993, AND AS RECOMMENDED BY THE FIRE MARSHAL, REQUESTING A DETAILED EVALUATION OF THE PROGRAM WITHIN THREE MONTHS TIME The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Pedersen. Ayes (4) Morelan, Pedersen, Scalze, Hanson. Nays (1) LaValle. Resolution declared adopted. LaValle indicated that he opposed the program under the current leadership. Mr. Morelan introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION N0. 93-10-338 - HIRING DAVE FRISON AS THE CITY'S PART-TIME, TEMPORARY AT-WILL FIRE INSPECTOR AT A SALARY OF $10.50 PER HOUR The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Pedersen. Ayes (5) Morelan, Pedersen, LaValle, Scalze, Hanson. Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. ECONOMIC The City Administrator reported that he expected to DEVELOPMRNT receive a draft of a preliminary development agreement for the Rice 5treet redevelopment project in the near future. SHERIFF'S Pedersen felt it helpful to have the Sheriff's DEPARTMENT Department attend the Council/Staff goal-setting session and felt that periodic workshops with the Sheriff's Department should be held. It was the consensus of the Council to schedule a workshop with the Sheriff's Department for Wednesday, December 8, 1993, at 6:30 P.M. FIRE DEPT. Morelan reported that the Little Canada Fire OPEN HOUSE Department's open house went well. The Fire Department still has smoke detectors available to anyone who is interested. Residents can contact the Fire Department who will install the detectors for residents if there is the need. MARRET Morelan noted the correspondence from a resident of PLACE Roseville regarding the potential relocation of the DRIVEWAY Market Place Shopping Center driveway. REIACATION The City Administrator reported that the City Planner is followinq up with MN DOT on this issue, and he will find out the status and report back to the Council. Page 24
