MINUTES OF THE WORRSHOP MEETING <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />LITTLE CANADA, MINNESOTA <br />OCTOBII2 13, 1993 <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a workshop <br />meeting of the Council of the City of Little Canada, <br />Minnesota was held on the 13th day of October, 1993 in <br />the Council Chambers of the City Center located at 515 <br />Little Canada Road in said City. <br />Mayor Raymond Hanson chaired and called the meeting to <br />order at 6:10 P.M. and the following members of the <br />Council were present at roll call: <br />MEMBERS PRESENT: Mayor Mr. Raymond Hanson <br />Council Member Mr. Jim LaValle <br />Council Member Mr. Steve Morelan <br />Council Member Mr. Bob Pedersen <br />Council Member Mrs. Beverly Scalze <br />ALSO PRESENT: City Admin. Mr. Joel Hanson <br />Public Works Mr. Dave Harris <br />Recording Sec. Mrs. Kathy Glanzer <br />Hanson noted that the purpose of tonight's meeting is <br />to conduct the annual performance evaluation of the <br />City Administrator. The Council Members individually <br />evaluated the City Administrator on eight major areas <br />of responsibility. <br />The first area that was evaluated was Organizational <br />Management. Hanson rated the Administrator as Meeting <br />Expectations Plus, noting that the workplace is <br />harmonious and the Administrator has done an excellent <br />job in filling personnel vacancies. Scalze agreed with <br />that rating, pointing out she as a Council Member does <br />not get complaints from or about staff. Scalze felt <br />that additional attention was needed to motivating high <br />performance in a few instances, but was not sure this <br />was the fault of the Administrator. Morelan felt there <br />was not much room for improvement in this area, but <br />felt more attention was needed to directing and <br />developing staff inembers. Morelan was not sure <br />everything was getting done in an expedient manner. <br />Code Enforcement is lacking. Morelan reported that he <br />has received very few complaints about the <br />Administrator, and pointed out that good job that the <br />Page 1 <br />
