MINUTES OF THE WORRSHOP MEETING CITY COUNCIL LITTLE CANADA, MINNESOTA OCTOBII2 13, 1993 Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a workshop meeting of the Council of the City of Little Canada, Minnesota was held on the 13th day of October, 1993 in the Council Chambers of the City Center located at 515 Little Canada Road in said City. Mayor Raymond Hanson chaired and called the meeting to order at 6:10 P.M. and the following members of the Council were present at roll call: MEMBERS PRESENT: Mayor Mr. Raymond Hanson Council Member Mr. Jim LaValle Council Member Mr. Steve Morelan Council Member Mr. Bob Pedersen Council Member Mrs. Beverly Scalze ALSO PRESENT: City Admin. Mr. Joel Hanson Public Works Mr. Dave Harris Recording Sec. Mrs. Kathy Glanzer Hanson noted that the purpose of tonight's meeting is to conduct the annual performance evaluation of the City Administrator. The Council Members individually evaluated the City Administrator on eight major areas of responsibility. The first area that was evaluated was Organizational Management. Hanson rated the Administrator as Meeting Expectations Plus, noting that the workplace is harmonious and the Administrator has done an excellent job in filling personnel vacancies. Scalze agreed with that rating, pointing out she as a Council Member does not get complaints from or about staff. Scalze felt that additional attention was needed to motivating high performance in a few instances, but was not sure this was the fault of the Administrator. Morelan felt there was not much room for improvement in this area, but felt more attention was needed to directing and developing staff inembers. Morelan was not sure everything was getting done in an expedient manner. Code Enforcement is lacking. Morelan reported that he has received very few complaints about the Administrator, and pointed out that good job that the Page 1
