MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />OCTOBER 27, 1993 <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Scalze. <br />Ayes (5) LaValle, Scalze, Hanson, Pedersen, Morelan. <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />ASSESSMEN'P The City Attorney submitted to the Council a proposed <br />DEF~L assessment deferral ordinance which allows for the <br />ORDINANCE discretionary review of senior citizen deferred <br />assessments by the City Council as well as the <br />formalization of the development deferral option. The <br />current ordinance requires the deferments to be <br />reviewed by the Council every five years. <br />Mr. LaValle introduced the following ordinance and <br />moved its adoption: <br />ORDINANCE NO. 372 - AMENDING SECTIONS 2901.030, <br />2901.040, 2901.060 OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE CITY OF <br />LITTLE CANADA, RELATING TO THE DEFERRAL OF SPECIAL <br />ASSESSMENTS <br />The foregoing ordinance was duly seconded by Morelan. <br />Ayes (5) LaValle, Morelan, Hanson, Pedersen, Scalze. <br />Nays (0). Ordinance declared adopted. <br />The City Administrator pointed out that there are <br />deferments granted for properties on Country Drive <br />which are three-year deferments. The Administrator <br />suggested that due to the lack of development in that <br />area, the Council may want to consider extending those <br />deferments provided that the property owners are <br />agreeable. The Administrator suggested that he contact <br />these property owners to determine their interest. If <br />they are interested in the deferments, he would bring <br />these deferals back to the Council at its next meeting. <br />1994 The Administrator reviewed his letter dated October 21, <br />STREET 1993 regarding 1994 street improvements. The <br />IMPROVIIdENTSAdministrator reported that he, the City Engineer, and <br />the Public Works Superintendent have reviewed the <br />City's streets and are recommending the following <br />improvements for 1994: <br />* Lake Street (east of Jackson) - Reconstruction; <br />* Lakeshore - Old County Road C- Jackson <br />(between Cty. Rd. C and Demont) - Rehabilitation; <br />* Westwind & Windrow Drive - Overlay; <br />* Country Drive (settlement area west of Spruce - <br />Reconstruction. <br />Morelan asked if the rehabilitation of Lakeshore, Old <br />County Road C and Jackson would include curb and <br />gutter. <br />Page 18 <br />
