MINOTES OF THE WORRSHOP MEETING
CITY COUNCIL
LITTLE CANADA, MINNESOTA
NOVEt4BII2 30~ 1993
Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a workshop
meeting of the Council of the City of Little Canada,
Minnesota was held on the 30th day of November, 1993 in
the Council Chambers of the City Center located at 515
Little Canada Road in said City.
Mayor Raymond Hanson chaired and called the meeting to
order at 7:05 P.M. and the following members of the
Council were present at roll call:
MEMBERS PRESENT: Mayor Mr. Raymond Iianson
Council Member Mr. Jim LaValle
Council Member Mr. Steve Morelan
Council Member Mr. Bob Pedersen
Council Member Mrs. Beverly Scalze
ALSO PRESENT: City Admin. Secretary Mrs. Kathy Glanzer
1994 The City Administrator presented the Council with
BUDGET a revised 1994 Budget proposal. The Administrator
WORRSHOP pointed out that the City's estimated tax capacity
values have decreases 2.44% to $5,774,450 from last
year due to declines in commercial/industrial values,
as well as a reduction in class rates percentages
established by the State of Minnesota. Therefore, even
if the City held its levy to a zero percent increase,
there would be an increase of 2.44% in the tax rate to
make up for the decline in tax capacity. This increase
as well as an increase in valuations for some
properties has a double effect.
Hanson asked if the devaluation of
commercial/industrial property affected the City's
apartment buildings.
The City Administrator did not believe so reporting
Page 1
