MINUTES
CITY COUNCIL
DECEMBER 16, 1993
the City by obtaining this background knowledge at this
point. The Administrator anticipated that future
auditing services would be put out for competitive bid
to make sure that the City obtains the best value. The
Administrator also commented that Tautges, Redpath has
done an excellent job for the City in the past and has
helped the City tremendously.
Mrs. Scalze introduced the following resolution and
moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION NO. 93-12-301 - AWARDING THE CONTRACT FOR
1994 AUDITING SERVICES TO TAUTGES, REDPATA AT A COST
NOT TO EXCEED $21,000
The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by LaValle.
Ayes (5) Scalze, LaValle, Aanson, Morelan, Pedersen.
Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted.
MITCHELL Hanson reviewed the letter from Vadnais Heights' City
PRESERVE Administrator Gerry Urban regarding the number of
DEVELOP- appointments to the Little Canada/Vadnais Heights
MEN'P Mitchell Preserve Development Committee. Hanson
COMMITTEE pointed out the City's desire to recognize those
citizens who want to become involved on the committee,
and did not feel there was a problem with the number of
committee members.
Scalze pointed out that the committee is a recommending
body in nature, that, hopefully, will form some
consensus on the development of the Mitchell property
and make recommendations back to both the Little Canada
and Vadnais Heights City Councils.
The City Administrator agreed that the committee was
advisory in nature, but thought that the Vadnais
Heights City Administrator may be referring to a joint
powers board. The Administrator did not feel the
cities were at the point of forming a joint powers
board yet, and pointed out that Little Canada has
citizens who want to make sure their interests are
protected.
LaValle pointed out that although Vadnais Heights may
feel very strongly that the committee is too large,
Little Canada may feel strongly that three residents
should be on that committee.
The Administrator suggested that he send a letter to
Vadnais Heights stating the City's position and the
fact that the committee is an advisory board, not a
joint powers board at this point.
Page 20
