MINUTES
CITY COUNCIL
DECEMBER 16, 1993
be almost doubled to achieve a plus or minus 2%
accuracy rate. A 250 random sample provides plus or
minus 6%. 200 is plus or minus 7%.
Scalze asked the cost difference from a 400 random
sample to a 250.
Morris replied that the cost would be 5/8th's plus
overhead.
Hanson felt that at this point a work session was
needed with the Council, Staff, and Commission
representatives to determine what direction to go.
Hanson thanked Morris for his presentation.
RENEWAL Hanson opened the public hearing to consider the
OF PAWN renewal of the pawn shop and second hand goods license
SHOP for Lincoln Pawn and Jewelry at 2750 North Rice Street.
LICENSE Hanson pointed out the reports the City has received
from the Sheriff's Department indicating that Lincoln
Pawn has been very cooperative and there have been no
problems at the business.
Mr. Charles Wedemeyer, Lincoln Pawn & Jewelry, appeared
before the Council to answer any questions they might
have. Wedemeyer reported that Lincoln Pawn & Jewelry
does cooperate with the Ramsey County Sheriff's
Department, and there have been few, if any, problems
at the business.
There was no one from the general public present
wishing to comment on this matter.
Upon motion by LaValle, seconded by Scalze, the public
hearing was closed.
Mr. LaValle introduced the following resolution and
moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION N0. 93-12-291 - APPROVING RENEWAL OF THE
PAWN SHOP AND SECOND HAND GOODS LICENSE FOR LINCOLN
PAWN AND JEWELRY, 2750 RICE STREET, FOR THE PERIOD
JANUARY 1, 1994 THROUGH DECEMBER 31, 1994 BASED ON THE
FAVORABLE REPORT SUBMITTED BY THE RAMSEY COUNTY
SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT
The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Pedersen.
Ayes (5) LaValle, Pedersen, Aanson, Morelan, Scalze.
Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted.
Page 6
