MINUPES CITY COUNCIL JANUARY 12, 1994 LaValle agreed that Parker indicated that having two or three shooters in the area at a time would make the hunt more difficult. Morelan asked if the City was in a position to approve the permits. The Administrator felt that it was subject to the results of a proficiency test conducted by the DNR. Morelan suggested that the process continue now so that the hunt can begin as soon as the deer return. Scalze suggested that these deer may be moving back and forth through the area, and did not want to see the herd behind her home shot. Mr. LaValle introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 94-1-17 - INSTRUCTING THE CITY ADMINISTRATOR TO WORK WITH JON PARKER OF THE DNR TO QUALIFY THE HUNTERS IN QUESTION AND PROCESS TI-IE NECESSARY PAPER WORK FOR THE BOW AND ARROW PERMITS SO THAT THE HUNT CAN COMMENCE WHEN THE DEER RETURN TO THE AREA The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Morelan. Ayes (5) LaValle, Morelan, FIanson, Pedersen, Scalze. Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. I~CTC BUS Hanson pointed out that the City has received a ON ELI RD. petition from the residents on Eli Road asking that the MTC bus be removed from their street. The City Administrator has requested that MTC relocate the larger bus from Eli Road, and should a bus be necessary, one the size of the Roseville Circulator should be substituted. The Administrator reported that he has a meeting scheduled with the MTC tomorrow and he will bring this matter up. The MTC has indicated that it takes some time to change a route, and they will look at the situation and try to come up with an alternative. Scalze pointed out that the bus on Eli Road is a shuttle bringing passengers from one point to another, therefore, not available for use by Eli Road residents. Scalze did not feel that use of a residential street for a shuttle service was appropriate. Morelan also pointed out the safety issues involved Page 10
