MINUPES <br />CITY WUNCIL <br />J~INUARY 12, 1994 <br />*APPROVING ISSUANCE OF THE ST. JUDE NOTE R-2 SUBJECT TO <br />REIMBURSEMENT OF INVOICE COSTS~ <br />*APPROVING THE MSA FUNDING RESOLUTION~ <br />*APPROVING FINAL PAYMENT TO FRATTALONE CONTRACTING FOR <br />THUNDER BAY DRAINAGE PROJECT; <br />*APPROVING THE VOUCHERS. <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Scalze. <br />Ayes (5) LaValle, Scalze, Hanson, Pedersen, Morelan. <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />i'caLICING The City Attorney reported that the Alternative <br />AL'I'ERNATIVES Learning Center provides services to 10 school <br />A7:.C districts. The Attorney also reported that the <br />Roseville Middle School contracts with the Ramsey <br />County Sheriff's Department to provide an officer on <br />site. In Blaine, two school districts contract with <br />the Blaine Police Department.for police services in <br />their schools. The Attorney reported that due to the <br />number of Sheriff's calls at the ALC, it appears a <br />meeting would be in order to explain the problem and <br />determine what ALC is willing to do to resolve it. <br />Morelan asked if the police services at the Roseville <br />Middle School and in Blaine schools are paid for by the <br />school districts. <br />The Attorney replied that they were. <br />Hanson pointed out the number of calls that occur at <br />ALC, and the fact that these numerous calls are taking <br />time from the Sheriff's Deputy that could be spent on <br />emergency calls. <br />Scalze pointed out that these calls cost Little Canada <br />citizens a lot of money, and LaValle pointed out that <br />most of the calls at ALC are violent in nature. <br />LaValle indicated that he would be interested in <br />sitting in on the meeting with ALC. Morelan stated <br />that he would serve as an alternate if LaValle were <br />unable to attend. <br />Mr. LaValle introduced the following resolution and <br />moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 94-1-15 - INSTRUCTING THE CITY <br />ADMINISTRATOR TO CONTACT THE ALTERNATIVE LEARNING <br />CENTER AND REQUEST A MEETING WITH THEIR REPRESENTATIVES <br />AND CITY REPRESENTATIVES, WHICH INCLUDE THE CITY <br />Page 6 <br />
