MINUTES
CITY COUNCIL
APRIL 13, 1994
Mrs. Scalze introduced the following resolution and moved
its adoption:
RESOLUTION NO. 94-4-87 - APPROVING THE MINUTES OF THE
MARCH 23, 1994 REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING AS SUBMITTED
The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Morelan.
Ayes (5) Scalze, Morelan, Pedersen, Hanson, LaValle.
Nays (O). Resolution declared adopted.
ROY NADEAU, Mayor Hanson asked for a moment of silence in memory
JR. of Roy Nadeau, Jr., former Council Member, who passed
away on Tuesday. On behalf of the entire City, Hanson
extended sincere sympathies to the family.
Scalze pointed out the fact that Mr. Nadeau donated
Nadeau Wildlife Park to the City, and had been present at
the dedication ceremony for the park. Scalze stated that
Mr. Nadeau will be greatly missed.
CONCEPT Dr. Tom Keenan appeared before the Council asking for
REVIEW concept review of a proposal by his son to construct a
KEENAN home on a lot without frontage on an improved road.
PROPERTY Keenan pointed out that the property abuts an unimproved
road easement for Lake Street. Keenan estimated the cost
to improve the road at between $60,000 and $110,000 which
would make it cost-prohibitive to construct one single-
£amily home. Therefore, Keenan would like to pursue a
variance in order to construct a home on the lot using
the road easement as driveway access.
Hanson reported that he spoke with Mrs. Mason who owns
property abutting unimproved Lake Street. Mrs. Mason
indicated that they were not interested in the
improvement of Lake Street at this time, and presently
had no intentions of developing the three lots they own
abutting the street.
Dr. Keenan described where his home was located along
Keller Parkway. Keenan also reported that some years ago
the City Engineer indicated that Lake Street would never
be improved all the way through to Keller Parkway due to
the topoqraphy of the area. Keenan pointed out that his
home is located very close to the Lake Street easement.
Scalze asked about the home located at 764 LaBore Road.
2
