MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />APRIL 27, 1994 <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Scalze. <br />Ayes (5) LaValle, Scalze, Hanson, Morelan, Pedersen. <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />Hanson stated that at the last Council meeting he <br />announced the passing of former Council Member Roy <br />Nadeau, Jr. Now, eight days later, Roy Nadeau, Sr. <br />passed away. The senior Nadeau serviced as Village Clerk <br />from 1953 through 1958, and as a Council Member during <br />the years 1968, 1969, and 1970. Aanson asked that a <br />moment of silence be observed in honor of Roy Nadeau, Sr. <br />PUBLIC Hanson opened the public hearing to consider the <br />HEARING FOR application submitted by SuperAmerica for a qas station/ <br />CUP FOR convenience store at 235 East Little Canada Road. <br />SUPERAMERICA Hanson pointed out that the Planning Commission has <br /> recommended approval of the Conditional Use Permit. <br /> Hanson noted the large volume of information that the <br /> Council has on this matter, as well as the fact that he <br /> and each Council Member received certified letters from <br /> Fluer Royal stating their opposition to the application. <br /> Roman Mueller, SuperAmerica, appeared before the Council <br /> indicating that he was available to answer any questions <br /> or concerns with their application over and above what <br /> has already been done. <br /> The City Administrator pointed out that the City hired an <br /> independent engineering firm to conduct a traffic study <br /> of the area. Glen Van Wormer of SEH is here this evening <br /> to summarize the results of that study. <br />Hanson stated that the biggest concern with the proposal <br />seems to be traffic. Hanson pointed out that the <br />location of the property in question is a retail <br />location, and whatever is developed on the site will <br />generate additional traffic. Hanson noted that the <br />current use, Grumpy's Restaurant, closes each day at 2 or <br />3 P.M., thereby not adding any traffic to the P.M. peak. <br />Hanson did not believe the same hours of operation would <br />hold true if the use of the site changes. <br />Glen Van Wormer, Manager, Transportation Department, SEH, <br />reported that the City requested that his firm conduct a <br />traffic study of the area to determine the impact that <br />2 <br />
