MINUTES CITY COUNCIL MAY 25, 1994 CUP FOR Hanson opened the public hearing to consider the ACCESSORY request of Gary Quam for a Conditional Use Permit to BUILDING construct a second accessory building on a property, OVER 1,000 with total accessory building area to be larger than SQUARE 1,000 square feet in size at property located at 2934 FEET - LaBore Road. Hanson noted that the Planning Commission GARY QUAM has recommended approval of the request provided that the accessory space is attached to the existing accessory building, and that the building meet City setback requirements. Mr. Quam noted that he has submitted a revised sketch plan which brings his proposal in compliance with the Planning Commission's recommendation. Hanson pointed out that the Quam property consists of a couple of acres, and suggested that the additional accessory space would be better located at the rear of the existing building. Quam replied that the south side of the existing accessory building is his yard area. Also locating the addition on the south would mean the loss of a larqe oak tree. Quam pointed out that his driveway is to the front of the accessory building, and that is the natural location for a building addition. Morelan asked about the 3-foot offset in the building shown on the sketch plan. Quam reported that he is making that offset and reduced the size of the building addition from what he originally proposed in order to save some trees. Morelan asked if the garage door would face LaBore Road. Quam replied that it would not, but would face west. Hanson reported that Jim Olson contacted him and stated that while he had no objection to the size of the accessory space being proposed, he would prefer to see the addition placed on the south side of the existing garage, rather than bringing the building closer to the road.
