MINUTES OF THE WORKSHOP MEETING <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />LITTLE CANADA, MINNESOTA <br />JiTNE 7, 1994 <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a workshop meeting <br />of the City Council of the City of Little Canada, Minnesota <br />was held on the 7th day of June, 1994 in the Council <br />Chambers of the City Hall located at 515 East Little Canada <br />Road in said City. <br />Mayor Raymond Hanson chaired and called the meeting to order <br />at 6:15 p.m. and the following members of the Council were <br />present at roll call: <br />MEMBERS PRESENT: Mr. <br />Mrs <br />Mr. <br />Mr. <br />Mr. <br />ALSO PRESENT: Mr. <br />Ms. <br />Raymond Hanson, Mayor <br />Bev Scalze, Council Member <br />Jim LaValle, Council Member <br />Steve Morelan, Council Member <br />Bob Pedersen, Council Member <br />Joel Hanson, City Administrator <br />Kris VanSchoonhoven, Rec. Secretary <br />BUILDING The City Administrator indicated that he did not have a <br />INSPECTOR final recommendation yet on the building inspector. He <br />stated that things have been going fairly well with Larry <br />Squires as the Temporary Building Official. The <br />Administrator has received few complaints, and he wanted to <br />continue under the present conditions to see how much work <br />there actually is. To-date, he felt that the work has not <br />been overwhelming. <br />Hanson asked if Squires was performing plan reviews plus <br />inspections. The Administrator indicated that he was doing <br />both. <br />Scalze indicated that she has received one complaint from <br />someone who said that Squires was not coming out to inspect <br />some remodeling that was being done. The resident wanted an <br />inspection and was concerned that Squires did not feel an <br />inspection was necessary. The Administrator stated that he <br />received a call similar to that, and he has discussed and <br />resolved the matter with Squires. <br />The Administrator stated that he has talked to other cities <br />and has found that there is a wide range of quality in <br />inspection services. <br />The Administrator indicated that he has been doing the <br />majority of code enforcement. It has been very time <br />consuming. He stated that 17 letters were sent out on <br />Monday. The Administrator stated that he could see why in <br />the past it had been difficult for the City~s former <br />Building Inspector to get the code enforcement done when he <br />had a busy building season.
