MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />JUNE 22, 1994 <br />Mr. LaValle introduced the following resolution and <br />and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 94-6-148 - APPROVING THE MINUTES OF THE <br />JUNE 7, 1994 CLOSED COUNCIL MEETING AS SUBMITTED <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Pedersen. <br />Ayes (5) LaValle, Pedersen, Scalze, Hanson, Morelan. <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />ANNOUNCEMENTS Hanson informed residents that the City is undertaking <br />a community survey. If anyone is interested in <br />assisting in identification of topics and drafting <br />questions for the survey, they should contact Diane <br />Traxler, Decision Resources, at 920-0337. <br />Hanson reported that the City recently re-established <br />its Community Pride Committee. The committee is <br />comprised of inembers of the business community, private <br />residents, Planning Commission representatives, City <br />staff, the Mayor and Council Member Scalze. <br />Scalze reported that at its first meeting the committee <br />discussed goals and direction. There were good ideas <br />put forth, and the first meeting was very interesting. <br />The second meeting of the committee has been scheduled <br />for Thursday, July 7th, 7:30 A.M. at City Hall. <br />Morelan reported that the Fire Department recently <br />simulated a live fire call at 376 LaBore Road, which is <br />part of the Montreal Courts apartment complex. Morelan <br />thanked the residents of that building for their <br />cooperation during the drill. Morelan stated that <br />drills of this nature are valuable training exercises <br />for the Fire Department. <br />FRONT YARD Hanson opened the Public Hearing to consider the <br />SETBACK application for a variance from the front yard setback <br />VARIANCE requirement of thirty (30) feet to construct a single <br />2439 SUNRISE family house twenty-two (22) feet from the road right- <br />DRIVE - of-way at 2439 Sunrise Drive as requested by Mr. John <br />JOHN MAAS Maas. Hanson noted that the Planning Commission <br />recommended approval of the variance provided that the <br />structure lines up with the neighboring houses. <br />Mr. Maas reported that the variance would be for the <br />2 <br />
