MINUTES
CITY COUNCIL
JULY 13, 1994
The City Attorney replied that Mr. Boss would own
underlying title to the property subject to the
easement.
LaValle asked the cost of relocating the hydrant.
The City Administrator estimated the cost at between
$500 and $1,000. It was estimated that the hydrant
would have to be moved 25 to 30 feet further west.
Morelan guessed that when the water main was put in
abutting undeveloped property, it was anyone's guess as
to where to place the hydrant.
Boss agreed and pointed out that at the time lot sizes
may have been larger, therefore, it was thought that
only four lots could be developed rather than five.
Hanson suggested a compromise and a sharing of cost for
the hydrant relocation between the City and Mr. Boss.
Hanson pointed out that the fifth lot provides the City
with additional tax base.
Boss felt that a fair compromise, pointing out his
cooperation in the past with the City in the matter of
the road and utility easements.
Mr. LaValle introduced the following resolution and
moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION NO. 94-7-168 - AUTHORIZING THE CITY
ADMINISTRATOR AND PUBLIC WORKS SUPERINTENDENT TO OBTAIN
QUOTATIONS AND PROCEED WITH HYDRANT RELOCATION ON BRYAN
STREET AS REQUESTED BY MR. DICK BOSS, WITH RELOCATION
OF THE HYDRANT IN A LOCATION SATISFACTORY TO THE FIRE
DEPARTMENT AND PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT, WITH THE COST
OF THE WORK TO BE SI-IARED EQUALLY BY MR. BOSS AND THE
CITY
The foreqoing resolution was duly seconded by Morelan.
Ayes (4) LaValle, Morelan, Hanson, Pedersen.
Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted.
CON5ENT The City Administrator reported that in reviewing the
AGENDA CDBG Agreement with the County for rehabilitation of
the old fire station, he noticed that the County is
requiring higher insurance limits than the City
4
