MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />J'ULY 13, 1994 <br />ENGINEERING The City Administrator presented a modified Engineering <br />CoNTRACT contract to the Council for their consideration. <br />Modifications include the categorization of right-of- <br />way and easement work as additional services, as well <br />as coordination of matters with the Army Corps of <br />Engineers. The Administrator reported that the new <br />contract does result in increased costs to the City. <br />The Administrator stated that in his review, the <br />increase costs appear to be warranted, and the contract <br />before the Council is the result of negotiations with <br />the Engineer. <br />Morelan was concerned about the current improvement <br />hearing process and suggested that prior to improvement <br />hearings, neighborhood meetings be held to explain <br />projects. <br />The City Administrator pointed out that the new <br />contract does contain a provision for presentation of <br />improvement information at both neighborhood meetings <br />and a public hearing before the City Council. <br />Mrs. Scalze introduced the following resolution and <br />moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION N0. 94-7-200 - APPROVING THE ENGINEERING <br />CONTRACT AS PRESENTED BY THE CITY ADMINISTRATOR, AND <br />AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY ADMINISTRATOR TO EXECUTE <br />TIIE CONTRACT ON BEHALF OF THE CITY <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Pedersen. <br />Ayes (5) Scalze, Pedersen, Morelan, Hanson, LaValle. <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />COMMUNITY The City Administrator presented the Community Block <br />DEVELOPMENT Grant Agreement for the old fire station to the Council <br />BLOCK GRANT for adoption. The Administrator reported that the <br />County has agreed that the City's current insurance <br />coverages and limits are acceptable. <br />Mr. LaValle introduced the following resolution and <br />moved its adoption: . <br />RESOLUTION NO. 94-7-201 - APPROVING THE COMMUNITY <br />DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT AGREEMENT WITH THE <br />UNDERSTANDING THAT THE CITY'S CURRENT INSURANCE <br />COVERAGES AND LIMITS WILL APPLY, AND AUTHORIZING THE <br />24 <br />
