MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />FEBRUARY 9, 1994 <br />The Administrator pointed out the resources it takes to <br />respond to these false alarms as well as the fact that <br />once false fire alarms become frequent, people have a <br />tendency to ignore the alarms. This could result in a <br />catastrophe. <br />Morelan asked if false alarms are accumulated over the <br />calendar year. <br />The Administrator replied that false alarms are billed <br />on the calendar year, but excessive alarms are <br />calculated over a 365 day period. <br />Mrs. Scalze introduced the followinq ordinance and <br />moved its adoption: <br />ORDINANCE NO. 380 - AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 816 <br />OF THE LITTLE CANADA CODE RELATING TO ALARM SYSTEMS, <br />AND INSTRUCTING CITY STAFF TO SEND MAILED NOTICE OF THE <br />CHANGE TO PAST ALARM USERS <br />The foregoing ordinance was duly seconded by Morelan. <br />Ayes (4) Scalze, Morelan, Pedersen, Hanson. <br />Nays (0). Ordinance declared adopted. <br />DNR & Scalze reported that the Park & Recreation Commission <br />TREE CITY has requested that the Park Consultant be authorized to <br />USE GRANT submit DNR and Tree City USA Grant applications. These <br />APPLICATIONS are matching grant applications, and if approved, <br />would be used for the improvement of Gervais Mill Park. <br />Scalze noted that in-kind service can be used as the <br />City's match to the grant funds. <br />Mrs. Scalze introduced the following resolution and <br />moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION N0. 94-2-40 - AUTHORIZING THE PARK <br />CONSULTANT TO SUBMIT DNR AND TREE CITY USA GRANT <br />APPLICATIONS ON BEAALF OF THE CITY <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Pedersen. <br />Ayes (4) Scalze, Pedersen, Hanson, Morelan. <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />MON~'uFnr. Scalze noted the concerns raised regarding Montreal <br />CoURTS Courts by an adjacent property owner. Scalze suggested <br />that staff look into these concerns and determine if <br />there are any efforts that can be made to help <br />alleviate them. <br />The City Administrator reported that he and the Mayor <br />Page 14 <br />
